Mt Helena lookout looking over Byron Bay NSW
Bellingen sunset.

Today is new years eve -  as I write this the sun is slowly poking it's head up on what looks like another beautiful day.
Our travels so far have been interesting - we left Lismore on Monday 24th December 2012 headed to Pottsville (near Tweed) to spend Christmas, which was quiet, with our youngest daughter & grandchildren. On the way took photos from the Mt Helena lookout which looks over Byron Bay.
Boxing day came & it was the release of "The Hobbit" so off we go to Tweed City theatre to view it in 3D.  While it was rather a long movie we loved it, Drew felt it was a tad too long, but both Ally & I enjoyed the movie.
On Friday 28th we ventured on our way down the M1 Pacific Motorway to just below Coffs Harbour to turn inland to Belingen which is a lovely hamlet of 2,600 people set amongst dairy farms and lush pastures.   We were directed to the showgrounds where this is the only caravan park the town has, park up anywhere - this done and after 5pm we felt it was happy hour - met fellow travellers from WA who with their 3 children had been travelling for a little over one month.   The ranger found us & the cost $25 per night.  Next morning headed back onto the M1 down through Kempsey, onto Taree where we ventured off the motorway and headed for Tinonee which is 15mins out of Taree on the great Manning River.  We have been staying with our best friends Chris & Ross until Friday 4th.
