Late April/ Early May 2014
I have a brother (Jim) in Kingaroy, QLD we attended his 45th birthday bash. It started with going to the "go karts" in Nanango (34kms from Kingaroy) where all the boys would be boys, the only girl was our beautiful daughter Rebecca from Melbourne.
The party was starting after lunch when they returned, well, drinking started. Drew started the BBQ around 6pm - between my sister Kerry and myself we provided so much food we could have fed quite a few more people.
Jim has a great set up to play music and between our son-in-law Ben and Jim really played a selection of tunes for everyone there at the celebration.
Kingaroy is known as the peanut capital of Australia, below shows the peanut silos, it is the largest peanut processing plant in Australia. Although this years crop in some areas around Kingaroy have had to be ploughed back into the ground as they did not get good rain after planting.
Kingaroy is an agricultural town and locality in the South Burnett region. It is approximately 210 kilometres (130 mi) or about 2½ hours drive north-west of the state capital Brisbane. The population is approx 7,500
Pictures from around Kingaroy, Mt Mowbullen, Fishers Lookout where you can see forever all in the Bunya Mountains area and national park.
From the top of Mt Mowbullen looking out to Dalby.
We spent one week in Kingaroy. One thing I would like to say, just out of Kingaroy in a nearby village is approx 30 new houses just going to waste as the council will not let anyone live in them, haven't been able to find out why, but my brother seems to think it has something to do with the septic/sewerage. But I ask "what a waste" they are brand new modern houses. Will add the name of the village when I find it out.
